Forrest Health offers tuition assistance for RNs to obtain their BSN degree. Payments from Forrest Health are made in increments of $500, and service payback is 3 months per $500. Service payback begins once the employee has received payment.

Forrest General‘s Path for Success is a program designed to allow our direct patient care nurses the opportunity to grow professionally in their preferred area of interest, thus, preparing them for future career goals in leadership, critical care, or other specialties

The one-year Nurse Residency Program is an opportunity for RNs to pursue their nursing profession in a supportive environment. Nurses with current Mississippi RN licenses and with six months or less of hospital nursing experience as an RN will join the Nurse Residency Program once they have applied and accepted a position as an RN at Forrest General. Nurses in the Nurse Residency Program will still be compensated as an RN and are considered full-time employees.

Since 1952, Forrest General Hospital has been a leader in medical excellence in south Mississippi. The hospital has grown from the original 90-bed facility into a 512-bed certified Level II Trauma Center and hospital system that includes additional hospitals and specialty facilities.

As Forrest Health grows, so do the opportunities for our nurses. Whatever your career aspirations may be, as part of the Forrest Health team, you will be contributing to a noble mission: to advance the practice of medicine through education, unparalleled commitment and world- class services.

Forrest Health has grown exponentially with the help and support of our medical staff, employees and volunteers who put our vision in motion every day propelling this organization into the future of medicine.

Every person deserves to live and work in an environment where they can thrive and become their best self. Whatever that looks like for your life, it can be found here. Thriving means more than collecting a pay check, and we want more than that for our nurses.

Living and working in Hattiesburg has given me every opportunity to thrive within the community. Whether my wife or I are cheering on the Golden Eagles or getting involved with our local church, we both enjoy the feeling of a small town with the amenities that only come with living in a much larger city. The Hattiesburg area offers us everything we need and want, including great local shops and restaurants, entertainment, and a central home between all our friends and family.” – Kevin Gregory, NICU
